World Book Day

The children and staff looked fantastic and a lot of thought and effort went in to the costumes for World Book Day. The children all swapped class teachers for a short time and listened to a favourite story. They also enjoyed making their own book marks. The afternoon activities were divided into year groups, each concentrating on different authors and books: -

Yr 5/6 Tom Gates by Liz Pichon. The children also created a comic strip modelled on the layout of Tom Gates.
Yr 3/4 The Hundred-Mile-an-Hour Dog by Jeremy Strong. This year group were tasked with writing a short humorous piece in the same style.
Yr 1/2 Horrid Henry by Francesca Simon. The children had a go at describing characters based on how each other had dressed on the day.
Yr R Handa's Surprise by Eileen Browne

It was very difficult trying to choose a winner from each class. Well done to the winners and thank to parents for providing the fabulous costumes!
