On Tuesday 3rd June 2014, Yr 3/4 travelled to Watford, near London, to visit the Harry Potter Studio Tour. The purpose of the visit was to launch our new topic, ‘How to be a Tour Guide’. One of our favourite parts of the day was collecting Harry Potter passports, which encouraged the children to collect various stamps and search for the golden snitches hidden around the site. Another fantastic experience was riding the enchanted broomsticks and driving the flying car up against the green screen backdrop. Through this activity, we felt as though we were part of the films, learning the secrets and flying around the Hogwarts Castle and grounds. But, the most exciting part of the day was the scaled model of the Hogwarts Castle itself. Along with the breath taking model, we also got to watch how it was constructed and see how long it took to piece together.
Overall, we really enjoyed it and a magical day was had by all.
