On Monday a team of eight Y5/6 children took part in the Quadkids Athletics event at the Athletics Ground in Winchester. Nine teams teams from the Winchester and Eastleigh district took part.
There were five events: 75m sprint, Vortex javlin throw, standing long jump, 600m middle distance run and a relay race. Each of the children participated in each event. It was a great afternoon of competition and I was delighted to have been able to accompany the children who were determined to to their best in their individual events and worked together as a team coming a very close second in the relay. Ben consistently threw an amazing 33m and won the boys 600m by several metres. He was the 3rd highest scoring boy. The team came 3rd overall in the competition. Well done eveyone!
