What a fantastic Book Week we had last week! The children and staff looked amazing dressed up as a book character. The children really enjoyed working out who everyone had come as.
It was lovely to see so many parents at our afternoon Book Cafés. The children certainly appreciated you taking the time out of your working day to come along. Sharing a story with a child, however old they are is always a worthwhile experience.
We have introduced the Bedtime Story Bag for YR/1 and Y2/3 classes. A different child takes the book home each day. Please remember to send if back into school the following day when your child brings the story bag home.
Staff enjoyed swapping around and reading a favourite story to a different class.
Across this week, each class have received some new books to add to their classroom collection. We place a high priority on reading and sharing books. Each class has a storybook that the teacher reads aloud to the children every day as well as the books that are the focus of guided reading.
Ask your child what book they are reading as a class at the moment……
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
