The PTA at South Wonston is an essential part of our school. All          parents and carers are automatically members and everyone’s contribution is highly valued. This enables us to create a richer learning environment for the children. Numerous curriculum resources have been provided throughout the school for the children to be able to enjoy. Each year we hold a wide variety of social functions that allow us all to get to know one another in a more relaxed setting and the children to see their parents and the school staff working together for their benefit. They appreciate this united effort which also adds to their feeling of security. Our school would not be the lively and welcoming learning environment it is without the contribution of the PTA.

On behalf of all the pupils we would like to thank you for your very valuable support which enriches their learning experience and makes their time in school so enjoyable.

Match Funding

We wanted to take this opportunity to tell you about corporate funding/match funding and how, with just a little of your time, you could help to double the money raised for the PTA.

You may work for an organisation such as a high street bank, building society, supermarket, large corporation, small business or independent company that offers a match funding scheme. This means that any money you help raise could be matched by your employer. This might apply to the total raised at an event, or to the funds raised from a stall that an employee volunteers to run.

Usually, the employee simply needs to provide their employer with a letter from the PTA confirming the date, nature of the event and charity details (see below) along with the total amount raised. We are more than happy to supply any information or documentation required.

If this is something your workplace offers, we would be incredibly grateful if you’d consider supporting the PTA in this way at future events. Last year alone, parents helped us raise an amazing £1,522 through match funding, which was absolutely fantastic and made a real difference. Match funding really does help us go further, allowing us to provide extra resources, experiences and opportunities for all the children.
