We would like to draw your attention to upcoming open events at our local secondary schools. These are useful for familiarising families with their options, and allow children to experience what their future school could be like. The events are suitable for families of Year 5 children, to help start your thinking about secondary schools, and are very important for Y6 families, who need to have chosen their preferences before October 31st.

Our catchment school at South Wonston is The Henry Beaufort School. Their open events are as follows:

Open Evening- Thursday 12th September 2024

(5:30-7:30pm)

Open Mornings (all 9-10am)-
Thursday 12th September 2024
Friday 13th September 2024
Thursday 3rd October 2024
Thursday 17th October

It will be important to notify the office at South Wonston if your child will be missing the first hour of the school day due to attendance at one of the open mornings.

Some families also choose to look at other secondary schools. This includes Kings’, whose open evening is on Thursday 26th September, plus open mornings on the 25th and 26th September. These also require you to book through their website:
