Higher Level Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team and help deliver engaging and high-quality learning across the school.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children of all ages, is flexible in their approach, and is keen to play a key role in supporting teaching and learning.

The Role:

The HLTA role includes leading learning with whole classes during PPA time, as well as providing targeted support and intervention across the school. You’ll be working with supportive teachers who will plan and guide the learning, and you'll be a valued member of a collaborative team.

We’re looking for someone who is confident, reliable, and ready to grow their skills in a school that values professional development.

  • Salary - D grade 13.95-15.35 per hour £26,918- £29,616 pro rata

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold HLTA status or be willing to work towards it with our support.

  • Have experience working with primary-aged children, ideally across different year groups.

  • Be calm, nurturing, and consistent in their approach.

Class Teacher KS2

South Wonston Primary school  is a highly inclusive school that values the input of the whole community. Nursery Learning Support Assistant (Level 3)

We are thrilled to be opening our new school-based nursery and are looking for a caring, dedicated, and experienced Level 3 Nursery Learning Support Assistant to join our team.

At South Wonston Primary School, we believe that a child’s first experiences of learning should be filled with joy, curiosity, and care. Our nursery provides a warm, nurturing environment where children feel safe, valued, and inspired to explore. We are proud to offer extensive outdoor spaces, high-quality resources, and a supportive team, all designed to help our children flourish in their earliest years.

This is a one-year fixed-term position in the first instance, with the potential to extend, and is suitable for a candidate qualified to Level 3 in Early Years or Childcare. Term time only.

  • Salary - C grade- £12.65 - £13.18 per hour pro rata = £24,405 - 24405

The Role:

You will work closely with our nursery team to create a caring, engaging, and enriching environment for our 3 and 4 year-old children. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting children’s learning and development through purposeful play, exploration, and adult-led activities.

  • Encouraging social skills, independence, and confidence in young learners.

  • Helping to establish clear routines that create a calm and supportive environment.

  • Planning and delivering activities that promote the EYFS curriculum, in collaboration with the nursery lead.

  • Observing, recording, and contributing to the assessment of children's progress.

  • Supporting children with additional needs where required.

  • Assisting with personal care and ensuring children’s well-being at all times.


What We’re Looking For:

  • Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare (essential).

  • Experience of working in an early years setting, particularly with 3–4-year-olds.

  • A genuine love for working with young children and supporting their development.

  • A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach, with a good sense of humour.

  • A clear understanding of the EYFS framework and child development.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.

  • Good English, Maths, and IT skills.
