Headteacher Welcome

Jessica Lott - Headteacher

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you and your family to South Wonston Primary School. As a school community, we strive to make all of our members (new and established) feel welcome. Our belief is that close partnerships with our families are key to ensuring that our children are at the heart of every decision we make and together we will support our children to be happy, resilient and confident learners for life. We value the contribution parents and carers make in helping children achieve this.

All of the adults at South wonston Primary School whether they are staff members, parents, carers, governors, support workers or specialist providers, are role models to our children. By respecting each other and by valuing each child as an active and important member of our school and local community, we will encourage children to develop a sense of responsibility for themselves and a respect for others. This is reflected in our school values:

Inspire

Challenge                                                                                                                                                      Achieve                                                                                                                                                  Nurture.

South Wonston Primary School is a nurturing community with happy, confident and kind children who are actively curious and make the most of opportunities to learn, improve and innovate. Our children are proud of their school and all the things that make it so special. We are very fortunate to have superb outdoor spaces, a fun, engaging and broad curriculum, our own outdoor learning area and some of the best teachers and support staff! As a team, we are committed to developing a coherent, flexible and enriched curriculum which raises aspirations, drives ambition, and secures high standards in all areas. Strong relationships and deep understanding of our children as a whole, means that the opportunities that are provided are relevant to their needs both now and in the future.

We aim to ensure children develop self-esteem, self-worth and independence with the ability to work well together and contribute fully to the life of the school, making it a central part of our wider enriched community. We want your child to flourish and feel secure during their time at South Wonston Primary School; knowing it is a place where aspirations and ambitions come true.

Together, we will nuture, inspire, challenge and achieve
