School Uniform

Why is uniform important?

At South Wonston Primary School we expect all children to wear school uniform. We believe wearing a uniform encourages pride in the school and contributes towards a school identity.

The Department of Education strongly encourages schools to have a uniform as it can play a key role in:

  • Promoting the ethos of a school
  • Providing a sense of belonging and identity
  • Setting an appropriate tone for education

What is our school uniform?

  • Grey school skirt or grey/black trousers or shorts
  • White polo shirt with or without the school logo
  • Red checked or striped school dress (summer)

  • Black low-heeled school shoes – no trainers or boots
