Job/Person Summary

We are looking for a kind and caring person to join our team of staff who care for our children in our After School Club. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated person who puts children first to lead our team, organising staff and pupils to ensure a happy and productive time for all. Whilst we would like to appoint a person who can work all shifts across the week, we are flexible and willing to make changes to this for the right person(s).

The successful candidate will be required to organise and manage registers, ensure effective communication with parents and manage staff and children. Full training and support wiil be provided for all aspects of this role. 2.45 – 6.15.

 

The successful candidate will:

  • someone who cares for the children and enjoys seeing them have fun
  • creative and can come up with ideas for activities for the children to engage in
  • have good behaviour management skills
  • have a caring, patient approach towards children
  • have a calm disposition with a good sense of humour who will bring fun to our Out of School Club
  • have a positive approach that supports the schools’ visions and values
  • have strong interpersonal skills with children and adults
  • be a team player with a professional attitude
  • enjoys being part of a professional childcare staff team
  • is self-motivated
  • has appropriate experience of and enjoys working with the 4-11 age group
  • has a Childcare qualification (desirable)

 

Duties include: 

  • Setting up the After School Club provision
  • Research activities for the week ahead and design a weekly activity programme of activities
  • Auditing resources
  • Welcoming children and helping them to settle in to the session Supporting the children in a wide variety of active games and quieter small group activities including board games, construction, arts and crafts and indoor and outdoor sporting activities
  • Attend to children’s health and well-being needs as necessary.
  • Assisting in clearing away once the sessions have ended
  • Following procedures to dismiss children to their carer at the end of the session
  • Complete relevant paperwork in line with the role and responsibilities

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated person to support in our South Wonston Primary School Wraparound service providing before and after school care for children aged from 4 years to 11 years.

Fully Funded Apprenticeships are available for on the job training.

The post is for 5 afternoons per week 2.45 - 6.15 (JOB SHARE IS POSSIBLE).

The successful candidate will:

  • have good behaviour management skills
  • have a caring, patient approach towards children
  • have a calm disposition with a good sense of humour
  • have a positive approach that supports the schools’ visions and values
  • have strong interpersonal skills with children and adults
  • be a team player with a professional attitude
  • enjoys being part of a professional childcare staff team
  • is self-motivated
  • has appropriate experience of and enjoys working with the 4-11 age group
  • has a Childcare qualification (desirable)

We are looking to appoint an caring and dedicated person as a Learning Support Assistant for 5 day's per week with a lunchtime supervisor duty.  You must be passionate about making a difference to children’s progress and attainment to join our team. You will be supporting children with Special Education Needs within KS2, in small groups or individually, as directed by class teachers and the SENCO. 

Applicants should:

  • ideally have previous, recent experience of working in a school setting
  • understand the needs of an autistic child or be willing to undertake personal development in this area
  • have a calm disposition with a good sense of humour
  • have a positive approach that supports the schools visions and values
  • have strong interpersonal skills with children and adults
  • be a team player with a professional attitude
  • be able to implement clear boundaries and routines
  • be able to work independently and with initiative
  • have good English, Maths and IT skills
